APRIL MOOD BOARD

It feels like just yesterday I was sourcing inspiration for the March mood board. April is officially here and I couldn’t be more excited to see what this month brings. Everything is slowly turning more green outside here in the midwest and I’m anxiously awaiting for the last frost to start planting my flower garden. This month is busy around here as it is the start of planting season on the farm. I’m also preparing for the summer season at the shop. The past week has been heavy in design as I am bringing in some new features to the shop as well as creating custom summer apparel + jewelry. My focus this month is all about preparation for the upcoming summer season + to give myself time to slow down and recharge. Our nightly walks by the lake have slowly started back up and it truly is the place where my mind can rest. I hope you have a place that does the same for you when you need it most.

Spring is here and it feels so nice to have the windows open letting the fresh breeze in. For me there is nothing better to do on a Sunday than open all the windows while cleaning the house and preparing for a new week. I just recently skimmed through my closet to see if I was lacking any key pieces and found a few gaps I am needing to fill. My spring shopping list currently consists of a classic black sandal, refreshing some of my bralettes, a quality pair of shorts, a casual dress to just throw on and go, and refreshing a few basic staples. My love for stripes has grown so much that I think it will truly be a staple in my wardrobe indefinitely. Having easy but elevated pieces that you don’t have to think too hard on and offer versatility is my goal this spring season and I’m so excited about it.

As for the home my focus shifts to outside this time of year. Our garden centers and nurseries will start to open up and my favorite thing is to go stroll through and see what everyone has to offer this year. We bought a lilac bush and planted it last year in hopes it would grow a little bit every year and it has the sweetest green buds on it. We have lilacs lining my parent’s backyard and it’s a nostalgic bloom that reminds me of home. I have already bought all my seeds for my cut flower garden which I’m so excited to share more details about soon. Our backyard is going to be the main project for the summer as our deck is going to be redone along with new stairs + a beautiful black metal railing. We are also redoing the lower portion of the backyard to add a lower seating + dining area to entertain. I’m excited to go source new pants + flowers to fill my planters + flower boxes both at home and at the shop. It brings such beauty + life that is so inspiring. I choose varieties that can be cut for vase styling as well which is so exciting to be able to bring that beauty indoors and share them with others.

I’ve curated a list of my spring favorites and will be adding to it all month long. You can find it here.

Here’s to a beautiful spring season ahead wherever you might be.
