TO A NEW SEASON OF LIFE

The last six months have been quite the ride and more change is on the horizon as we head into a new season of life. Let’s back up a few months to when we made the decision to transition the brand and my life’s work into something new after five years of retail both online + in person. We are in the midst of starting a family and with busy farming schedules and a new blessing on the way, the grind of in person retail had taken it’s toll, not to mention the current state of the economy. Last November I started working on a new brand concept and put the pieces in motion to get things started while watching Nash & Ivy come to an end after the holiday season. We closed Nash & Ivy’s physical store front at the end of December which brought both excitement + heartbreak. Nikki Bird was then born and launched earlier this month and it is something I am so deeply proud of. It’s a small curation of hats that give back to three non-profit organizations that are near + dear to my heart {Nikki Bird comes from a nickname my dad gave me when I was little}.

Currently I’m 19 weeks pregnant with our first. Pregnancy has had it’s challenges but the reward at the end of the tunnel will be all worth it. We are so grateful that we have made it this far and are hard at work preparing for this new stage of life as new parents. This last summer we built a backyard office for me to move into as my current office at the time would become the room we will bring our little boy home to this summer. We have been slowly working on adding furniture to the nursery at a pace that feels right for us. While I can’t do as much as I could do before I’m excited to start settling in and making his room feel calm + comforting. This next season of life will rock us to our core but building a foundation of marriage for the past five years has brought us closer than we ever have been and we are ready as we can be for this next step.

Ever since we found out about our new blessing last November I really have shifted my outlook on everything to have a less is more approach to this next phase of life both physically and mentally. Eliminating stress and keeping things calm has been my main focus. This has been something I have been clinging onto lately. Minimizing my workload and shifting my focus to growing a small brand while getting back into sharing what inspires me here have been my sanctuary. Thank you for following along on this wild ride we call life. This is my safe place to share what I find inspiring + brings me peace and I hope it creates this for you as well.

To the next season of life.

x Nikki
