SPRING CAPSULE WARDROBE

All these spring capsule wardrobe pieces are linked here + below.

Capsule wardrobes were never on my radar in the past. I’ve always had pieces that I absolutely love and continuously wore over and over with different outfits. It wasn’t until this new stage of life where articles of clothing kept dwindling from my current closet, and the realization that getting creative with the pieces that still fit has become a new, creative challenge. I took inventory of what is still comfortable, and what pieces I wear over and over no matter the occasion. These are the core pieces that inspired my spring capsule wardrobe and I hope this gives you inspiration to take a deep dive into your closet, pull out your most loved pieces, and create new outfit combinations to get you inspired for spring.

This first outfit is both comfortable but elevated. I would first start with a pair of quality joggers and your favorite tee to match. Drape the crewneck over your shoulders as an added layer in case you get cold and add your favorite active shoe + sunnies. This outfit can be duplicated with any color tones you may already have in your wardrobe or I’ve linked a few of my favorites above to spark inspiration. It’s not about going out and buying all new. It’s more of identifying those key pieces in your wardrobe that you keep coming back to and elevating them to their full potential.

For a little more chic option start with your favorite pair of linen or cotton trousers. Here I have my favorite bump friendly navy blue trousers paired with my go-to white tee. I would again add another layer to drape over my shoulders to add an effortless flare while having a cozy layer to throw on if needed. This Sunday Crew from Abercrombie is my favorite sweatshirt and I just ordered it in a larger size because I miss it dearly. Jelly ballet flats are all the rage right now and I scooped up this pair to wear for spring + summer. Add your favorite sunnies, a tote, and you will be effortlessly stylish to run to a meeting, lunch with the girls, or an afternoon around town.

In moments when we don’t have a lot of time to think about what to through on everyday, its always a go-to of mine to style a monochromatic look such as this black ribbed long sleeve tee with my favorite pair of black joggers for a blank canvas. Adding a pop of blue with the crew draped over your shoulders, your favorite pair of tennis shoes, sunnies and bracelet stack makes the outfit look like you put a lot of thought into it while still being able to get dressed quickly in a pinch. When in doubt style a monochromatic look, it will never steer you wrong.

Let’s style your favorite pair of denim shall we? So many wise women have said one of the most important pieces in your closet is a crisp white button down shirt and for good reason. The possibilities are endless when styling this specific piece. Whether it’s with your favorite denim featured above, with a pair of linen shorts for the summer, over your favorite bathing suit as a cover up, or paired with a beautiful pair of trousers for a day at the office. A white collared shirt offers so much versatility to a wardrobe and is easy to throw on and go. Above I have it paired with a loose fit pair of denim with a drawstring waistband, a cozy heather grey sweater to add a layer and my worn in taupe Birkenstock sandals. A woven market basket is such an easy accessory to elevate a look and feel more chic. I use mine almost everyday and find it to be the perfect grocery store companion. Add a pair of sunnies and you are off.

This is a look that I have been recreating for years and is always in style but this time with a little trendiness to it. I start again with my favorite black joggers and oversized white tee. Add a denim element like an oversized twill overshirt or jacket. Add your favorite sunnies and a card holder with just the necessities and for a chic flare add these trendy mesh ballet flats to your current shoe rotation. They make even a very casual outfit feel more chic but not overdone.

This is a similar combination to the first outfit just switching out the crewneck sweatshirt for something a little more neutral. The beauty of a capsule wardrobe is taking a few core pieces, swapping out something as simple as a layering piece, and adding a few of your favorite accessories to make an outfit look and feel like you. An elevated but comfortable outfit to get you ready for anything the day might throw at you.
