WARDROBE REFRESH : CASUALS FOR SPRING

As I get older my style + taste has definitely evolved into a much more casual aesthetic. My approach to style and the pieces I bring into my wardrobe are an extension of who I am and what I feel the most comfortable in which is how it should be shouldn’t it? As the spring season approaches I want to slowly add in a few new staples to refresh my assortment for spring. If you have been following along for awhile my comfort outfit (the outfit I feel most like me in) is a quality pair of denim, a tee, and sneakers. To refresh and elevate for new season ahead I took to some of my favorite brands to gather inspiration.

Wide leg denim has found a place in my heart + I find the most flattering for my body type in this current season of life I am in. Denim is so versatile and can be dressed so many different ways that it is important to find what looks + feels best to you. Confidence is key as you want to feel + look your best and if you aren’t comfortable in what you are wearing the confidence piece lacks too. The Puddle Jean from BR is a new style to me but is a preferred staple style for the brand. I’m wanting to try this medium light wash for spring as it is a great base tone when styling an outfit for spring/summer.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… Buck Mason is the ultimate brand for quality basics and their Slub Easy Crew Tees are what I reach for first in my closet every time. Personally I own three different colors and can’t wait for the brand to launch a new color soon. They are perfect to wear alone or layer under your favorite knits or outerwear on those cooler early spring days. This beautiful Braided Leather Belt is from BM as well and I’m looking forward to elevating my outfits with as a touch of texture.

Mary Jane style flats have always been a staple style of footwear that I don’t currently have in my wardrobe. It is a timeless alternative instead of automatically reaching for my sneakers when getting dressed in the morning. It adds a chic flare to an outfit without trying to hard. Dolce Vita just launched new colors of their popular Reyes Ballet Flats but I’m so drawn to the classic black tone.

A & F has really stepped up their game for all things basics + I’ve heard rave reviews about their crewnecks. I decided to purchase one for myself to try and see if the hype is real. I loved the fit and tone of the Essential Raglan Classic Sunday Crew in the color grey. It’s a perfect piece to layer over a tee when you need to get dressed quickly but still want to look put together. Easy pieces like this is what I gravitate towards the most + seem to be the most versatile in my closet.

I’ve been a long time lover of the brand Longchamp Paris and have owned a few of their classic handbags in the Le Pilage collection over the years. One in particular that I’ve had my eye on for some time now is the Le Pilage Original L Tote Bag in black. These bags are such a quality closet accessory and I’m overjoyed to add this one to my collection. I’m pretty hard on my handbags but this brand stands the test of time. The durability is unmatched as well as the classic look will add elegance to your closet that you will be able to enjoy for years to come.

To more warm + sunny days ahead.
