JUNE MOOD BOARD
I truly can’t believe we are almost half way through the month of June already. The shop is in full summer season mode and has been keeping me quite busy. June marks the official start to summer, everything outside is green + lush, temperatures are warm, and the sunshine is here to stay. This month is full of busy work days, nightly walks by the lake, time in the garden, and soaking up plenty of sunshine. We have two weddings this month along with gathering inspiration and designing a very beautiful project in the backyard [ more details coming soon }.
The official start to summer is just days away and I’m ready to welcome the new season with open arms. Summer is one of my favorite seasons to dress + style. This season I’m so much inspired by the New England + East Coast vibe. Give me all things linen during this time of year. It’s truly about being cool and comfortable during the hot summer months in the midwest. I’m about to take a deep dive into my closet and edit my wardrobe down to the pieces I wear the most and focus on how to continuously restyle them for a fresh look. I just started reading Wear It Well : Reclaim Your Closet and Rediscover The Joy Of Getting Dressed by Allison Bornstein and I’m more inspired than ever to use her processes to find what I love to wear and what makes me feel most like me. More on this to come as my goal here is to help you get inspired with your own personal style within your wardrobe + home. It’s important to me to keep learning and evolving as my style keeps getting more refined year after year.
As for our home, the garden is in full bloom and my nightly routine of watering is in full swing. It’s the perfect time to decompress from the day and shut my mind off to relax for the night. We are going to be starting a rather big design project sometime in July so I’m using this month to gather inspiration, a design plan, and what materials I want to use. It’s going to be so beautiful + functional when it is done but I have to be honest. This is the biggest design project I have done by myself and it’s a bit overwhelming with all the choices of finishes, colors, ect. Just taking it one step at a time and slowly gathering inspiration has brought so much joy into my day to day + I can’t wait to share more on this soon.
